Crossword Path aims to be simple to use without creating unnecessary tracking. This page explains, in plain language, what data the site handles and how optional analytics works on the live site.
Search requests
Search queries are processed on the server so results can be returned immediately. The site is built to work without accounts, and it does not require you to submit personal information in order to search for words or use the daily crossword.
Cookies and local storage
The site may use technically necessary browser storage for things like recent searches and normal site functionality. If you make a privacy choice in the site banner, that choice is also stored locally in your browser so the banner does not reappear on every page load.
Third-party services
Crossword Path uses Google Analytics 4 to understand aggregate traffic and which pages are useful to visitors, but only after you accept analytics in the privacy banner. If you choose necessary-only storage, Google Analytics is not loaded. The site also uses Grow by Mediavine in production to support publisher tooling and audience features. Advertising is not enabled at launch. If additional third-party services are added later, this page should be updated to describe them clearly.
