A jacuzzi is a large bath with a system of underwater jets of water to massage the body.
Word origin
A trademark. Named after the Jacuzzi brothers. Obsolete variant of Italian Iacuzzi, as Italian has removed the letter J from native words.
Used in a sentence
“Americans gravitate to the Regent for its unbeatable views (the hotel is built out on giant stilts over the harbour, and even the jacuzzis in the top suites have a view of junks and passing ferries).”
“And, by the way, my Jacuzzi days are long gone.”
“Afterwards, he'd idle in the steam room, or in the jacuzzi, watching the men, hoping to catch the eye of a chubby-chasing hunk. It never happened.”
