Either borrowed from Gujarati સત્યાગ્રહ (satyāgrah) or from Hindi सत्याग्रह (satyāgrah), ultimately from Sanskrit सत्याग्रह (satyāgraha) (in turn, composed of सत्य (satya, “truth”) + आग्रह (āgraha, “persistence”)).
